One Stop Center was set up in May 2004 comprising initially delegated officer from different government authorities including CUSTOMS, IMMIGRATION, and later WORK PERMIT DEPARTMENT and COMPANY REGISTRAR and Envilonmental Impact Assessment Unit. Since then, there has been tremendous improvements in service delivery to the investors.
In brief, the customs’ service that involves the exemption of imported goods used to take at least ten days to process the exemptions these has be reduced to maximum of one day.
Immigration a service involves in issuing working visa was taking at least seven days, this has been reduced to a maximum of one hour.
The work permit department involves with issuing working permit to the expatriate employees was taking at least one month to process, has now been reduced to thirty minutes.
Again, the process of company registration was taking at least 21 days to process, now has been reduced to a maximum of 2 days.
Project evaluation and processing was taking at least 14 days to process, this has been reduced to a maximum of 3 days.
